A Delightful Anniversary!

Two Years of Marriage!
a drop in the bucket!
but still a great day of celebration!
As we had our breakfast this morning (a delicious one that Joseph planned and made), hundreds of migrating birds stopped by in our yard. They were creating formations in the air and then landing and covering the entire lawn. It was amazing to see them move as a unit...as we are learning to do!
We enjoyed each other's company and reminiscing upon the goodness of God. A romantic picnic in a row boat and dinner on top of Big Mountain topped off the day beautifully.

Marveling at Faithful Love of Christ.

Lots of LOVE,

Have a fantastic time today!

child-like faith

I read this quote by C.S. Lewis today and it was a great reminder...

Faith in Training
"Now Faith, in the sense in which I am here using the word, is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted, in spite of your changing moods. For moods will change, whatever view your reason takes. I know that by experience. Now that I am a Christian I do have moods in which the whole thing looks very improbable: but when I was an atheist I had moods in which Christianity looked terribly probable. This rebellion of your moods against your real self is going to come anyway. That is why Faith is such a necessary virtue: unless you teach your moods 'where they get off', you can never be either a sound Christian or even a sound atheist, but just a creature dithering to and fro, with its beliefs really dependent on the weather and the state of its digestion. Consequently one must train the habit of Faith."

ah..............very good.

on our hearts

on our hearts, in our prayers -

our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe- where people are being slaughtered because of corruption and power...

our brothers and sisters in NE India - where 50 churches have been burned this week, and many people killed...

May the God of peace bring healing and restoration to the people on both sides of "the gun".

Jesus is the One that cannot be shaken in the middle of wars and rumors of wars.
Love to all,

Coffee and more Huckleberries

Heyha.

Well Joseph just started work at Montana Coffee Traders. It should be good. Today is also the day that we both start college again.

Joseph is taking English and Woodworking.

Christy's classes are

Social Psychology, Oil Painting, Interpersonal Relations and Communications, Algebra, Creative Writing in Poetry, Botany and Choir.

Yay! Here we go on another adventure.

This week we are staying with some friends, and in a few days we move to a place we will be house-sitting at for a while. What a blessing. There are mountains, fields and horses within eyeshot and people are showing up giving us furniture they have sitting around.

It is cooling off already in Montana, we are planning a backpacking trip of some sort for this weekend before it gets really chilly. We picked a gallon of huckleberries last week and have been enjoying them quite well.

Last night a double rainbow filled the sky along with turquoise-grey-green clouds over the mountains. It is Big sky Montana afterall.

Lots of love and Grace in Jesus,

J and C

Little Road Trip

Safe and Sound we are, in Montana.
The road trip and border crossings were great. We plan to hike up Big Mt. today. It is much more hot and dry here, and there is no ocean of course, so these are natural adjustments...however, we are so glad to be here, knowing it will be a good season.

Here are some scenery photos of our drive through Canada, Washington and Idaho. The black and white photo is Joseph's Grandpa, when he drove a model T across the states as a sort of pioneer as a youngin. We are inspired!

We also got to visit quite a bit of family which was a lovely time of catching up and learning.

Lots of love!

Alaska Goodness

ah, it has been a good time in Alaska. Family and Fishing are wonderful. Our nephew Elijah has been visiting us for about a week and it has been great fun. Here he is with his first king salmon!
He helped us smoke and jar up fish last night too. What a cool guy.

We both had our last day of work up here, today...for now. We are leaving in three days on the ferry. It is hard to leave Alaska in the summer but we know that we're headed the right direction!

We played music at a little coffee shop on the fourth of july which was fun...it is so good for us to take time to be creative.

Have an absolutely lovely day!

Moving to Montana

well....we are moving to Montana in 2 weeks. For how long? ..we don't really know, but that is where we are going for now. Lots to discover in life, marriage, friendships, community, music relationship with God and creation. Northwest Montana is a gorgeous place to be with a lot of creative people and winters that have to include snowmen.
Recently we have been busy trying to soak up as much of Alaska and family as we can.. We have caught 5 king salmon in the last couple weeks, but want to catch many more! It has started to warm up finally in the last couple days, about 70 degrees and that's hot for us Alaskans.

Here a couple photos of our wedding (almost two years ago!) requested by our friend Joanna...
That was a beautiful day! It is a blessing to be married and on our way to a new adventure.
LOTS of LOVE!

The Gathering

What an enjoyable time worshiping the Creator of all with many nations.
Alaska is a unique place.
Playing the unity drum this weekend was so awesome.
The paint just flew off the drum and there was a lot of dancing with joy!

Prayers of friends

changes coming in on the wind.
frost on the plants last week, rain pounding yesterday,
sunshine smiling today.

There is so much to talk about and so many good memories to consider.
We can feel the prayers of friends as we walk this road.

Joseph is building a deck and Christy is learning to knit.
We put our hands to what is here before us, by grace.

Lovely day in a Lovely place,
